CIBF 2025: Over 3,200 Battery Exhibitors Showcase Cutting-Edge Technologies in Shenzhen

CIBF

Over 3,200 battery exhibitors gathered at the 17th Shenzhen International Battery Technology Exchange Conference and Exhibition (CIBF 2025), which opened on May 15 at the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center. This year’s exhibition spans over 300,000 square meters and attracts more than 400,000 professional visitors from around the globe.

The event, organized by the China Chemical and Physical Power Industry Association, is themed “Linking the World: Empowering Green, Driving the Future.” It has been upgraded to serve as a comprehensive super platform covering the entire industrial chain from “materials – battery cells – equipment – recycling – applications.”

CIBF 2025 features three major green energy halls, four advanced materials halls, seven intelligent manufacturing halls, and one international hall, showcasing a complete ecological chain from basic material innovations to end application scenarios. Among the highlighted zones are the “CATL Pavilion” and the “Photovoltaic Storage and Charging Exhibition Area,” which present cross-domain solutions integrating photovoltaic storage and smart grid technology.

This year’s exhibition also introduces three interactive areas—the Exhibition Check-In Zone, New Product Launch Area, and Overseas Buyer Negotiation Zone—providing participants with an immersive experience and precise matchmaking opportunities.

At the event, cutting-edge technologies such as solid-state batteries, sodium-ion batteries, and hydrogen fuel cells were prominently featured. Leading companies in the power battery sector, including CATL, Yiwei Lithium Energy, Sunwoda, and Ruipu Lanjun Energy, showcased their products that meet the new national standards for power batteries, highlighting their research and development capabilities through high energy density batteries and fast charging technologies. Companies from Europe, the United States, and Japan also presented breakthrough materials like cobalt-free cathodes and silicon-carbon anodes.

Concurrent with the exhibition, a seminar themed “Green Energy Driving the Future” was held, featuring authoritative experts and decision-makers from the industry discussing topics such as “Progress in Halide-Based All-Solid-State Batteries,” “High Energy Density Ultra-Fast Charging Solid-State Battery Technology: Progress and Prospects,” “Next-Generation Power: Solid-State Batteries and Hydrogen Hybrid Technology,” and “Materials for 1000Wh/L Lithium-Ion Batteries.”

Zheng Hongyu, Chairman of the China Chemical and Physical Power Industry Association and chair of the CIBF 2025 Organizing Committee, stated that 2025 will be a pivotal year for ultra-fast charging technology, solid-state battery technology, and sodium battery technology to transition from the laboratory to production lines and to scale up. “China has formed a closed-loop system for the entire battery industry chain, accelerating the green transition at every step, from materials to recycling.” She called for the government, enterprises, and academic institutions to collaborate in creating an innovation system that addresses challenges and empowers sustainable development.

During the event, several white papers were released, including the “Lithium-Ion Battery Industry Blue Book 2024,” “Standardization White Paper for Low-Altitude Aircraft Batteries,” and “China Lithium Iron Phosphate Development White Paper,” providing data support and guidance for industry development.
