
In May, several leading Chinese photovoltaic companies, including LONGi Green Energy, JA Solar, Trina Solar, Chint New Energy, Aiko Solar, Hua Sheng, TCL Solar, and GCL-Poly, have been actively signing contracts for overseas photovoltaic projects. According to preliminary statistics from Polar Star Solar, these orders span various countries and regions such as Australia, Germany, Portugal, Turkey, Zambia, Peru, and the UAE.
Among these contracts, LONGi Green Energy secured over 1GW of orders for its Hi-MO 9 modules, marking a significant milestone in the global large-scale BC cooperation. Aiko Solar achieved notable advancements with its ABC modules, winning contracts for the largest BC ground station in Europe and establishing deep collaborations with companies like CrossBoundary Energy, resulting in a successful 1GW centralized order with overseas clients. Additionally, JA Solar signed a contract for 250MW of high-efficiency photovoltaic modules in Australia, while Chint New Energy entered into strategic framework agreements with Belectric and Aprilice to provide ASTRO N series photovoltaic modules for their ground station projects in Europe.
Highview Solar has appointed Grodno S.A. as its primary distributor in Poland, setting an ambitious annual target of 200MW, marking a critical breakthrough in its European localization strategy.
LONGi Green Energy has also signed a major strategic cooperation agreement with the globally recognized energy group ENGIE and the leading power construction company China Power Construction Corporation in Paris. Under this agreement, LONGi will provide over 1GW of upgraded Hi-MO 9 modules, significantly contributing to the renewable energy goals in the Middle East and Africa, and facilitating the region’s energy structure transformation.
In the same period, LONGi announced a strategic agreement with crucial partners in Europe to promote the realization of nearly 100MW solar projects in Central America. In Southern Europe, a series of strategic agreements were established, allowing the supply of more than 580MW of high-efficiency Hi-MO 9 modules for multiple large ground station projects.
According to Zhang Sheng, President of LONGi Green Energy for the European region, “The renewable energy market in Southern Europe has immense potential, and we are honored to participate in this transformative process.” The company aims to set new benchmarks in power generation efficiency and lifecycle reliability through its advanced BC technology and product solutions, positioning sustainable solar energy as a core driver of Europe’s energy transition.
Moreover, LONGi has partnered with Yinson Renewables to supply 53.2MW of high-efficiency Hi-MO 9 modules for their benchmark ground project in Peru, which is set to commence construction in May and is expected to lead the application of high-efficiency photovoltaic technology in Latin America.
JA Solar has signed MOU agreements with well-known Australian clean energy companies NSEG and YES Group, agreeing to supply a total of 250MW of high-efficiency photovoltaic modules to the Australian market by 2025. NSEG is a leading rooftop photovoltaic installer in Australia, having installed over 60,000 photovoltaic systems for residential, commercial, and government entities, while YES Group is a well-known vertically integrated photovoltaic developer providing diversified services to local customers.
In the African market, Aiko Solar has signed a contract with CrossBoundary Energy to supply 225MW of its Star series ABC modules for the Kamoa project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Tongwei Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement with European energy service provider BayWa r.e. Solar Trade Holding GmbH for project development and operational support in the European market, focusing on their TNC 2.0 all-scenario product line. Simultaneously, Tongwei signed a supply agreement for projects in Eastern Europe with INFO-Telecom.
GCL-Poly completed project cooperation agreements with Portuguese solar manufacturer Galp and German photovoltaic project developer Unigea, further solidifying their leadership in the global energy transition and injecting new momentum into GCL-Poly’s international market expansion.
Chint New Energy has successfully signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with global renewable energy company Belectric, marking a new phase in their collaboration in the European market.
In addition, TCL Solar has signed a strategic distribution agreement with the UAE-based renewable energy company Power & Sun Solar Equipments Trading LLC, aiming to supply a total of 300MW of high-efficiency photovoltaic modules to the Middle East, Africa, and Eurasia regions.
Hua Sheng New Energy has reached an exclusive strategic cooperation agreement with German photovoltaic innovator Next2Sun to jointly promote the application and expansion of their Kunlun series horizontal modules globally.
In May, SAILAF signed a framework agreement for 250MW of photovoltaic products with the Iraqi energy company Barzaei Halwan, planning to achieve at least 50MW in initial procurement by 2025.
These developments reflect a robust and dynamic landscape for China’s photovoltaic industry, showcasing the commitment of these companies to expanding their global footprint and contributing to the advancement of renewable energy worldwide.
