China Petroleum West North Trading Company Achieves Record Power Generation
On April 24, 2025, it was reported that the West North Trading Company of China Petroleum reached a new high in annual power generation, generating 850 million kilowatt-hours in a single season. This marks a remarkable 165% increase compared to the previous year, setting a new historical record.
In recent years, West North Trading has been actively responding to the national “carbon neutrality” policy, deeply implementing the “carbon reduction three new” strategy, and continuously promoting the transition to green energy sources. The company has successfully established and is operating five oil depots, including Xiangshan, Yongxing, Ningbo, Weifang, and Wuxi, with a total capacity of 2.82 million tons. According to the health and safety protection department of West North Trading, the increase in power generation is due to new operational enhancements at the Xiangshan and Wuxi oil depots, while also optimizing existing project operations.
West North Trading has a long history of operational experience in power generation stations, which has been summarized and refined into management regulations. These regulations ensure the operational stability of the project, providing guidelines for maintenance work.
At the same time, the company has been actively promoting the integration of its power generation network with microgrid systems, implementing a “fixed period + flexible mechanism” operational strategy that has improved the operational efficiency of its power generation stations. Furthermore, West North Trading is enhancing its electrical systems and power management to maintain a high level of energy efficiency while reducing carbon emissions.
