China Solar PV News Snippets: Risen HJT Modules Achieve 740 W Average Output in Mass Production & More

**Risen Energy** has announced that the average power output of its HJT-based Hyper-ion series modules in mass production has officially surpassed **740 Wp**. The HJT cells used in these modules have been certified by the **Fujian Institute of Metrology**, achieving a conversion efficiency of **26.61%**. Risen claims to have reduced silver consumption for HJT cells to **5 mg/W**, which is **37.5% lower** than mainstream TOPCon products. Additionally, the company has optimized non-silicon costs by utilizing screen-printing technology, resulting in a low **1.8% module encapsulation loss** and maintaining a cell breakage rate below **0.03%**. Recently, Risen’s Hyper-ion module received the **Best Energy Yield Award** from SGS after extensive field performance testing in Saudi Arabia.

**LONGi** has announced a significant investment of **RMB 1.08 billion** (approximately **$150 million**) from the proceeds of its 2021 convertible bond issuance to enhance its subsidiary, **Tongchuan LONGi**. This funding will support the establishment of a **12 GW high-efficiency monocrystalline cell facility** in Tongchuan, Shaanxi Province. With a total planned investment of **RMB 2.877 billion** (around **$399.58 million**), the facility is anticipated to commence production in **August 2025** and reach full capacity by the first quarter of **2026**. LONGi also announced a solar PV manufacturing partnership with **Pertamina** to develop a **1.6 GW solar panel factory** in Indonesia.

**SANY Group’s** subsidiary, **Sany Silicon**, has officially commissioned a **2 GW solar module manufacturing facility** in Bazhong, Sichuan Province. This is the company’s third integrated solar PV production base in China. Construction commenced in **August 2024**, and the first batch of modules began production in late **June 2025**. The factory primarily manufactures double-glass TOPCon modules with power ratings ranging from **430 to 680 W**. Local reports indicate that Phase II of the facility will focus on various energy solutions, including centralized PV power generation, distributed solar systems, centralized wind power, energy storage stations, smart microgrids, and a green electricity trading center.

**Sveck**, a producer of solar photovoltaic encapsulation materials, is in the process of constructing a new facility in Heshan, Guangdong Province, with an annual production capacity of **200 million m²** for PV encapsulation film. The total investment for this facility is **RMB 128 million** (about **$17.78 million**), covering an area of **36,800 m²**. The main factory structure was completed in **April 2025**, and the local Development and Reform Bureau has recently approved the project’s energy efficiency report. Sveck’s encapsulants are recognized in both EVA and non-EVA categories in the **TaiyangNews Backsheets & Encapsulant Market Survey 2024/25** published earlier this year.

**PowerChina Hydropower Development Group** has begun construction on the **Xiaojinchuan River Basin Solar Base** in Xiaojin County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province. This **RMB 700 million** (approximately **$97.22 million**) project, rated at **160 MW**, is noted as China’s first integrated hydro-solar-pumped storage project. Situated at an average altitude of **3,700 meters**, the site will include a **16 MW / 32 MWh battery storage facility** and is scheduled for full grid connection by the end of **2025**. The project aims to create a tri-level hybrid system of ‘hydropower + solar + variable-speed pumped storage’ for real-time coordinated control and is expected to generate **280 GWh** of electricity annually.
