
This year, the sales of new energy vehicles in China have already surpassed 4 million units, marking a significant increase of 42%.
According to data released on May 7, 2025, by Fast Technology, the total sales of new energy vehicles from January to April 2025 reached 400,000 units, compared to the same period last year, reflecting a growth of 42%.
Based on the figures provided by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, it is projected that the new energy vehicle market in China will reach 1.2866 million units by the end of 2024, showing a growth of 35.5% year-on-year.
Furthermore, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers estimates that the sales of new energy vehicles in China could reach 1.57 million units by 2025, which represents an increase of 28% from the previous year.
In April alone, the sales volume of new energy vehicles amounted to 114,000 units, also reflecting a year-on-year increase of 42%.
Among the various segments, BYD led the market with 37.26 million units sold, while SAIC followed with 12.55 million units. Tesla sold 7.78 million units, while Changan and Geely contributed 5.84 million and 2.8 million units, respectively.
With the continuous implementation of new policies, the new energy vehicle market is expected to witness further growth. This is attributed to the increased competitiveness among manufacturers and the expansion of the charging infrastructure across the country.
The data indicates that the new energy vehicle sector is rapidly evolving, with several companies launching innovative products aimed at meeting the growing demand for cleaner transportation options.
