
National Energy Administration: In Q1 2025, Solar Power Generation Capacity Reaches 59.71GW
On April 29, 2025, the National Energy Administration released a report on the solar power generation capacity for the first quarter of 2025. According to the data, the total installed solar capacity in China is projected to reach 59.71GW for Q1 2025. This includes 23.41GW from centralized solar projects (39.2% of the total) and 36.31GW from distributed solar projects (60.8% of the total).
In terms of usage, 5.05GW is expected to come from household installations, while industrial applications are projected to account for 31.26GW. As of the end of March 2025, the cumulative installed solar capacity in China is 945.44GW, with 534.4GW from centralized systems and 411.04GW from distributed systems. The household segment accounts for 150.32GW, while industrial applications contribute 260.72GW.
The report emphasizes that the solar energy sector is set to experience significant growth, supported by government policies and the increasing demand for renewable energy solutions. The National Energy Administration encourages innovation and investment in solar power technologies to enhance capacity and efficiency.
