Ongoing Policy Support for Renewable Energy Development
Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration jointly released a document titled “Guidance on Accelerating the Development of Renewable Energy”. This guidance aims to clarify the development framework for renewable energy sources.
The document emphasizes the need for local governments to continue implementing supportive policies for renewable energy, ensuring that the sector’s growth remains robust.
Experts predict that the renewable energy market will see accelerated growth, driven by increasing market demand and more enterprises participating in the development of renewable energy projects, thus enhancing overall market activity.
Regions including Shanxi, Henan, Jiangsu, and Guangdong are expected to issue specific development plans, management regulations, and systematic promotion measures for renewable energy projects.
On April 17, the Shanxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission released the “Shanxi Province Renewable Energy Development Work Guidelines”. The guidelines highlight the importance of increasing the share of renewable energy in the energy mix, considering the local conditions.
Moreover, the guidelines call for improved regulations and management practices to facilitate the development of renewable energy sources.
By 2025, it is projected that the installed capacity of renewable energy in China will reach approximately 1,000 GW, and by 2030, this figure is expected to exceed 5,000 GW.
According to the National Energy Administration, supportive policies for renewable energy will be crucial for encouraging more enterprises to engage in the development and construction of energy projects, enhancing the energy supply capacity.
As of now, the renewable energy sector is still in its early stages of development, facing various challenges including technological standards and regulatory frameworks that need to be established. The industry is striving to overcome these hurdles to ensure sustainable growth.
On March 22, the Hunan Provincial Energy Bureau released the “Hunan Province Renewable Energy Management Guidelines”. The guidelines stress the need for effective management practices to promote the development of renewable energy sources.
Moving forward, the guidelines will help streamline the development process, ensuring a balanced growth of renewable energy alongside traditional energy sources.
In conclusion, the Chinese government is committed to advancing the renewable energy sector, with a clear focus on policy support and the involvement of various stakeholders to ensure a sustainable energy future.
