Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in collaboration with various government agencies, announced the release of the Guidelines for the Construction and Application of Green Microgrids (2026-2030). This document aims to guide enterprises and institutions in promoting the development and application of green microgrid technology, enhancing energy efficiency, and reducing carbon emissions in industrial sectors.
The guidelines emphasize that the primary goal of green microgrids is to supply green energy to industrial users. The focus will be on integrating various energy technologies, including solar, wind, high-efficiency heating pumps, energy storage, hydrogen energy, and smart energy management systems. These systems will support production processes and facilitate seamless interaction with the electricity grid.
In recent years, many enterprises and institutions have actively explored the development of green microgrids, with over 300 related projects already in progress across the country. The responsible individuals stated, “Overall, our microgrid technology is advancing steadily. However, challenges remain in terms of technology standards, market mechanisms, and alignment with large-scale power grids.”
The Guidelines aim to streamline the development of green microgrids while enhancing the ability to reduce carbon emissions in industrial applications. They also propose initiatives to boost renewable energy usage, strengthen energy efficiency, and deepen integration with the power grid.
In addition, the guidelines suggest enhancing the application of high-efficiency renewable energy, promoting intelligent energy management systems, and ensuring that operations align with relevant standards and regulations.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will collaborate with other departments to implement these guidelines and strengthen the integration of green microgrid technologies into industrial practices, ensuring high-quality development in this sector.
