According to a report released by SolarbeGlobal, a consortium of 29 photovoltaic companies, it is projected that in the first quarter of 2025, the shipment volume of photovoltaic products will reach a significant level. This data was published on April 30, 2025.

In the current year, the total shipment volume for the first quarter is expected to be around 59.71 GW, comprised of 23.41 GW from centralized systems and 36.31 GW from distributed systems. The two major influences on this projection are the “supply chain” and the “demand response” in the market. Notably, the share of distributed systems is expected to surpass centralized systems, establishing a dominant position for the distributed generation market.

Based on data from various manufacturers, there has been an increasing demand for distributed products since February of this year. This surge has led to a rapid increase in the transaction prices for components, reaching above 0.75 yuan/W. Recently, with the implementation of two new policies, certain component prices have declined to around 0.6 yuan/W.

As of now, the major players in the market, including leading companies like Jinko, LONGi, Trina, and Canadian Solar, are expected to remain dominant in the market share, accounting for a combined shipment volume exceeding 63 GW, which represents over 45% of the total market. Compared to previous months, the market share of these top four companies has decreased primarily due to a tight supply situation which has led to some manufacturers expanding their operations.

The top ten companies in the photovoltaic market have seen a combined increase in shipment volume, reaching 4.9 GW, which is a notable rise compared to last year. This indicates a healthy growth trend, particularly in the overseas markets where demand is expected to evolve significantly.

As the first quarter of 2025 approaches, market players are advised to increase their attention on international markets and actively participate in various forms of overseas exhibitions and activities. With expectations for the domestic market to tighten, companies will need to adapt their strategies to cope with potential fluctuations in demand and supply.

In summary, the photovoltaic industry is poised for significant growth in the coming years, driven by increasing global demand and advancements in technology. The anticipated shipment volumes for the first quarter of 2025 are expected to set new records, establishing a robust foundation for future market dynamics.
