China’s Growing Data Center Industry: Major Projects and Investments in 2025

Investment of approximately 2.9 billion yuan! The China Unicom Wujiang Computing Power Center project has received approval. The project is located at the intersection of Yinjialu and Guangming Road in the Wujiang Economic and Technological Development Zone of Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. It plans to add approximately 63 acres of new land, with plans for 10,000 high-power computing racks, the construction of two computing centers, one substation, and one operation and maintenance building.

<b>Investment of approximately 600 million yuan!</b> The China Aerospace Science and Technology Smart Industry Park project (including a computing data center) has been signed in Hunan Province. The project is planned to cover an area of 47 acres with a total construction area of approximately 67,800 square meters. It will establish a regional satellite data processing center and high-computing data center, built in two phases. The first phase will focus on the aerospace industry office building and satellite data center.

<b>Investment exceeding 784 million yuan!</b> The Shantou Cross-Border Digital Economy Industrial Park and supporting facilities construction project (Phase I) is now publicly disclosed. The project is located in the New Town of the East Coast Economic and Cultural Cooperation Pilot Zone in Shantou, covering the area of B06-02 (II) and the west side of Wanshang Road (Qiaoyun Road to Sihai Avenue). It includes one computing center, one offshore computing center, and three pilot bases.

<b>Investment of 990 million yuan!</b> The Yinshang Cloud Data Center (Central China #2 site) inauguration ceremony has taken place. This project, with a total investment of 990 million yuan, is positioned as a national A-level green data center. Once completed, it will support core computing power needs in the finance, internet, and government enterprise sectors. As of now, the basement construction has been largely completed, and work is ongoing on the ground structure.

<b>Investment of 1 billion yuan!</b> The Mingsheng Digital Damaoqi Super Computing Power Center project is progressing smoothly. Located in the Bailingmiao Town New Area of Damaoqi, Baotou City, this project has a total investment of 1 billion yuan, covering an area of 102,693.22 square meters, with a total construction area of 67,221.56 square meters, and construction began in March 2025.

<b>213 projects in Ulan Chabu (including smart computing) are accelerating efficiency through a “three-color warning + special team service” approach.</b> The first building of the Yueke Data Center project has been topped off, with the comprehensive building and substation construction reaching 80% progress. The first phase of the Century Internet Cloud Smart Computing Center base supporting source network load storage project has completed site selection and is in the approval stage.

<b>The Haidu Data Center and Micro-Short Drama Base project has passed pre-examination.</b> Located in the Haidu Plaza on Hefen Road in the Linfen Economic Development Zone of Shanxi Province, this project will renovate an area of 35,288.3 square meters and equip it with related infrastructure. Construction is scheduled to start in April 2025.

<b>The Shanxi Antai Group's DeepSeek localization and modular data center integration project has passed pre-examination.</b> Located in the party and mass building of the Antai Industrial Park in Yian Village, Jiexiu City, this project will build a localized and modular DeepSeek data center, incorporating domestic GPU integrated machines, cabinets, cooling, and power supply.

<b>Investment of 36 million yuan!</b> The Yangcheng City Jiang County 1000P Smart Computing Center construction project has passed pre-examination. This project, located in Jiang County, Yangcheng City, plans to build a 1000P computing center with an AI computing cluster consisting of 128 GPU computing nodes, equipped with a 2PB storage capacity distributed storage cluster, and is set to start construction in March 2025.

<b>Investment of 19.9957 million yuan!</b> The Jiao City Smart Computing Center construction project has passed pre-examination. Located south of the office building of the Jiao City Economic Development Zone, the project plans to establish artificial intelligence computing power of 300PFlops@fp16, building "one base and three centers," which include one smart computing industry base, one smart computing center, and one smart computing industry empowerment center.

<b>Investment of 980 million yuan!</b> The China Unicom Yangquan Smart Computing Center expansion project has passed pre-examination. Located within the Shanxi Yunfeng Data Center Park, the project plans to rent space on the third and fourth floors of Building A1, part of Building A2, and part of the C1 power building, planning to construct 1,808 new IDC cabinets.

<b>Investment exceeding 592 million yuan!</b> The Shanxi Xinzhou Computing Power Center project has passed pre-examination. This project, located in the Xinzhou Economic Development Zone, covers a total area of 7,321 square meters and a total construction area of 8,000 square meters. The construction includes foundational infrastructure, hardware for AI computing clusters, and software for AI computing clusters.
