China’s Green Energy Surge: 17GW of New Offshore Wind Contracts Signed

Chinas

17GW! Major developments are underway as companies like Tongwei, LONGi, JA Solar, and others secure significant contracts abroad, marking a substantial expansion in the renewable energy sector. As of October 5, 2025, it has become evident that foreign markets are embracing these partnerships. According to data from DataBM.com, a total of 13 contracts have been signed with a cumulative capacity of approximately 17.83GW.

Among these contracts, the majority are associated with Tongwei, with three contracts leading the way, followed by LONGi and JA Solar, which have also secured two contracts each. This month alone, four companies have reached contracts that exceed the GW threshold, showcasing the growing influence of Tongwei, LONGi, and JA Solar.

On September 4, JA Solar entered into a collaboration with Dhaka Solar for a 2.3GW solar project. Following this, on September 22, Trina Solar and China Energy signed a 7GW solar energy contract. On September 24, LONGi partnered with ACWA Power to establish a 6GW high-efficiency module production facility.

Furthermore, on September 25, Tongwei and ACWA Power signed a memorandum of understanding for the MUWAYH project, which will supply 1.175GW of TNC-G12R modules, aiming for operational readiness by 2025.

In addition to these international contracts, companies are also focusing on domestic projects, signaling a robust growth trajectory. For instance, Tongwei and LONGi are actively working on projects that emphasize self-built energy solutions.

On October 3, China Southern Power Grid collaborated with Tongwei to develop a 1GW solar project, showcasing the strategic significance of domestic partnerships in enhancing energy capabilities.

As the renewable energy landscape evolves, the involvement of these companies signifies a promising future for solar energy projects, both domestically and internationally. The momentum gained in this sector indicates a shift towards increased capacity and innovation.
