China’s First Offshore Photovoltaic Project in High Wind Speed Area Achieves Full Capacity Grid Connection
On April 29, the Three Gorges Group successfully connected the 180-megawatt offshore photovoltaic power station located in the high wind speed area of Dongshan, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province to the grid at full capacity. This marks a significant milestone as it is the first offshore photovoltaic project built in such a challenging environment.
The project has a total installed capacity of 180 megawatts and includes the construction of a 110 kV Jinghai land booster station as well as an 18 megawatt/36 megawatt-hour energy storage system.
The achievement of this project demonstrates advancements in renewable energy technologies and their integration into the power grid.
