
Institution: In the third quarter of 2025, China’s energy storage battery shipments reached 165 GWh, marking a year-on-year increase of 65%.
According to research statistics from the GaoGong Industry Research Institute (GGII), the total shipments of lithium batteries for energy storage in China for the first three quarters of 2025 amounted to 430 GWh, which is over 30% of the total for the entire year of 2024.
It is anticipated that the industry will continue to experience a supply-demand imbalance in the fourth quarter of 2025, maintaining a full production and sales state. The shipment volume for Q4 is expected to mirror that of Q2 and Q3, with an estimated total shipment volume for the year reaching 580 GWh, reflecting a growth rate exceeding 75%.
