In the second week of May, the national automobile market observed a significant influx of new vehicle registrations, primarily driven by electric vehicles (EVs). What new vehicles are attracting attention this month, and what hot topics are emerging in the industry?

The newly launched Nissan N7 began deliveries on May 5, with expectations that the model will enhance Nissan’s presence in the EV market. As Nissan’s latest pure electric vehicle, the N7 features advanced intelligent systems and impressive performance metrics.

This model utilizes the NISSAN OS system and is equipped with various features such as a Max variant with high-speed connectivity capabilities. The Pro variant includes AI-driven voice recognition features for seamless interaction. Additionally, the N7 employs advanced AI technology, utilizing 49 sensors and 19 intelligent modules for adaptive driving capabilities, enhancing the driving experience.

As for user convenience, Nissan has adopted a subscription-based model for procurement, sales, and service, making it more adaptable to consumer needs. Moreover, the company has established over 100 distribution centers and 500 service stations across the country, ensuring accessibility for customers.

Meanwhile, Geely unveiled its new hybrid SUV, the XC70, on May 7. This model marks the first vehicle from Geely’s new energy platform and is expected to enter the market in September. The XC70 is designed to cater to the growing demand for hybrid vehicles, offering a balance between performance and efficiency.

The hybrid SUV is engineered to provide an electric range exceeding 200 km (CLTC standard), fulfilling user needs for daily electric commute. The vehicle’s price is projected to start at over 400,000 CNY, addressing the market gap left by the Geely 60 and 90 series.

In terms of performance, the XC70 hybrid is expected to provide a robust driving experience, with a range of innovative technologies enhancing its efficiency and safety standards.

On the other hand, Li Auto is set to launch its new model series, the L7, L8, and L9, on May 8. The prices for these models range from 301,800 CNY to 399,800 CNY, catering to a wide audience. These new models are designed with significant advancements in intelligent systems and safety features.

The L series will feature a more compact battery structure, providing a weight reduction of up to 60%, while maximizing performance without compromising safety. The vehicles are expected to provide an integrated driving experience with a focus on intelligent connectivity.

In the realm of safety, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued regulations on May 8, emphasizing that all new vehicles must comply with stringent safety standards. This move aims to ensure consumer safety as the industry continues to evolve rapidly.

As electric and intelligent vehicles gain popularity, the government continues to push for enhanced standards in manufacturing and technology. The new regulations will be enforced starting June 7, 2025, highlighting the need for compliance among all manufacturers.

Overall, the automotive industry in China is witnessing a transformative phase, with electric and hybrid vehicles leading the charge toward a more sustainable future.
