80 New Energy Specialized Institutions Established

As of May 5, 2025, China has seen the establishment of 80 new energy specialized institutions. These institutions are designed to enhance the development of new energy resources. They focus on improving technology and ensuring the stability and security of electricity supply systems.

In recent years, the rapid development of new energy resources in China has been remarkable. By the end of 2024, the country had built a cumulative installed capacity of 73.76 million kilowatts, which is approximately 130% higher than the total capacity recorded in 2023.

The new energy sector is characterized by its dynamic deployment and short construction cycles, with applications expanding across various fields. It has directly driven projects valued at 2 trillion yuan, promoting the growth of related industries and becoming a new engine for green economic development.

Furthermore, the new energy sector is marked by high innovation, long industrial chains, and a strong commitment to sustainability. The industry has seen the emergence of numerous new energy enterprises that are enhancing their capabilities and transitioning toward higher efficiency and reliability.

Currently, China has 80 specialized institutions for new energy, which have collectively established 7 energy production bases that focus on innovative energy solutions aimed at enhancing energy efficiency and sustainability.

To meet the demands of industrial development, relevant departments are implementing supportive policies to facilitate the growth of the new energy sector. This year, a plan titled ‘High-Quality Development Policy for New Energy Manufacturing’ was introduced to accelerate the development of new energy resources.

Additionally, the new energy manufacturing sector is expected to further enhance its production capabilities while encouraging deeper participation from enterprises and educational institutions. This collaboration aims to establish a strong talent pool and build a robust training system for the industry.

In conclusion, the establishment of these new energy specialized institutions represents a significant step towards improving the quality and stability of energy production in China, ensuring that the sector continues to thrive and meet future demands.
