The largest capacity offshore wind power station in China successfully completed its artificial intelligence test

On April 18, according to Science and Technology Daily, the largest offshore wind power station in China successfully completed its artificial intelligence test at the Qinghai Sea West Wind Power Station. This marks the first specialized test for this technology in the country, aimed at enhancing China’s capabilities in new energy technology verification.

The test involved connecting the wind power station to the grid, utilizing two major scenarios of artificial intelligence. The first phase involved the grid connection of the wind power station, followed by a second phase that focused on stability through multiple support routes. The third phase aimed at optimizing response speed and adjusting output to ensure stable power flow within specified limits.

This test was conducted by the State Grid Qinghai Electric Power Company in collaboration with the China Electric Power Research Institute and Qinghai Guodian Wind Power Development Co., Ltd. The wind power station is designed with a total capacity of 224.5 MW, including a wind power generation capacity of 108 MW, while the new energy equipment capacity is set at 2400 MW, achieving a utilization rate of 95%.

The Qinghai Sea West Wind Power Station serves as a national-level demonstration project for the construction of new energy systems in China. It has established two major new energy bases and aims to deliver high-quality energy supply. The test results will help to lay a solid foundation for future developments in the national power grid.

The achievement of this test demonstrates the country’s commitment to advancing new energy systems, contributing significantly to the enhancement of technical support for energy supply.
