The first integrated wind-solar-storage system designed for substation applications in China has successfully commenced operations. This pioneering project, known as the Houhai San (Chunhui Station) demonstration project, was developed through a collaboration led by the Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau, in partnership with Hewei Electric and Tsinghua University. This achievement marks a significant milestone in the integration of grid-type energy storage technology with urban distribution networks in China.
Hewei Electric supplied the system with its independently developed string-type grid-connected storage inverters, which play a crucial role in ensuring real-time power supply reliability at the substation.
