Changzhou

Changzhou Industrial Vocational and Technical College successfully hosted the 2025 Cross-Strait New Energy Vehicle Industry Integration Development Conference on May 12, 2025, in Changzhou. The event was organized by the Cross-Strait Entrepreneurs Summit’s Special Group for Integration Development of the New Energy Vehicle Industry, along with the Su-Tai Enterprise Cooperation Alliance, the Cross-Strait New Energy Vehicle Industry Integration Development Demonstration Base, and Changzhou Industrial Vocational and Technical College.

The conference focused on deepening cross-strait cooperation and promoting industrial integration, bringing together representatives from businesses, industry professionals, universities, and relevant government departments from both sides. They gathered to discuss new pathways for the integrated development of the new energy vehicle industry.

Tan Zhuping, a member of the college’s Party Committee and Vice President, attended the meeting. Yang Fen, a member of the Changzhou Municipal Committee and Minister of the United Front Work Department, delivered the opening speech. She highlighted that Changzhou is an important hub for the new energy vehicle industry in the Yangtze River Delta, working to accelerate cross-strait resource integration through initiatives such as establishing a regular communication platform, creating an industrial cooperation project database, and promoting collaboration between industry, academia, and research.

Subsequently, Su Bo, the mainland leader of the Special Group for Integration Development of the New Energy Vehicle Industry, and Du Zijun, the leader from Taiwan, both addressed the attendees, calling for businesses on both sides to leverage their strengths to build quality industrial clusters and reliable supply chains, and to jointly explore new domestic and international markets.

Yang Shuai, Deputy Secretary-General of the Jiangsu Provincial Automobile Industry Association, provided a detailed analysis of the current situation and development strategies of the new energy vehicle industry within the province. Additionally, Yang Guocheng, Director of the Changzhou Taiwan Affairs Office, discussed the achievements and future prospects of the “Cross-Strait New Energy Vehicle Industry Integration Development Demonstration Base.”

Representatives from major companies, including Da Mao Wei Rui Ke Automotive Lighting Co., Ltd., Nanjing Chang’an Automobile Co., Ltd., and Xuzhou Xugong Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd., shared their practical cases in intelligent manufacturing, green supply chain management, and electric transformation, offering valuable insights for cross-strait enterprises on integrated development pathways.

Companies such as Lite-On Technology Corporation, BYD Battery, Jiangsu Huasheng Vehicle Electronics, and Shanghai Yinjia Electronic Technology presented their collaboration needs in areas including battery technology, automotive electronic systems, and intelligent driving solutions, seeking further partnership opportunities.

In the afternoon, the conference transitioned to group discussions, where representatives from both sides engaged in in-depth dialogues segmented by technology fields. Xu Wei, Dean of the School of Mechanical and Transportation Engineering at Changzhou Industrial Vocational and Technical College, along with Jiang Jinwei, Vice Dean of the Intelligent Control College, Wu Dong, Vice Dean of the Information Engineering College, and Lu Xiaohong, General Manager of Changzhou Bihu New Energy Vehicle Service Co., Ltd. (an authorized service provider of CATL), moderated discussions in four sub-forums focused on auxiliary systems, power drives, intelligent networking, and power supply systems.

Participants concentrated on critical topics such as intelligent cockpits, autonomous driving perception technologies, efficient motor design, energy recovery technology, vehicle-road collaboration, solid-state batteries, fast-charging technology, and supply chain optimization solutions. The representatives expressed that the grouped format significantly enhanced engagement efficiency, with several companies reaching preliminary cooperation intentions in technology joint research and patent sharing.

During the event, faculty members from Changzhou Industrial Vocational and Technical College provided insights into the alignment of the college’s programs with industry needs and talent supply capabilities, helping to deepen understanding of the institution among cross-strait enterprises. As the leading entity of the national Changzhou New Energy Industry Education-Integration Consortium and the national New Energy Vehicle Industry Education-Integration Community, the college has actively participated in and coordinated efforts in the integration of education and industry within the new energy vehicle sector, playing a crucial role in resource integration, collaborative innovation, talent development, social services, and governance coordination.

The successful hosting of this event injects new momentum into the “Two Bodies” construction, actively fostering an innovative ecosystem for collaborative development between industry and education. It establishes a virtuous cycle of “education empowering industry and industry supporting education,” positioning the consortium and community as engines for high-quality development in the new energy sector.

Simultaneously, the summit’s cross-strait intelligent equipment group and new energy vehicle special group held a closed-door working meeting to strategize deep integration of industries and outline future directions. To gain firsthand insights into industry-leading practices, participants visited Li Auto to observe intelligent production lines and the latest vehicle development achievements.

The conference, designed with a comprehensive approach of “policy guidance + technology alignment + on-site visits,” aims to help enterprises on both sides explore opportunities together in business collaboration, technology research and development, and industry-education integration. The successful hosting of this event not only lays a solid foundation for the deep integration of the cross-strait new energy vehicle industry but also contributes “Chinese wisdom” and “cross-strait solutions” to global green mobility.
