CATL Secures Patent for Innovative Battery and Energy Storage Technology

Ningde Times has recently been granted a utility model patent for its invention titled “Battery Device, Energy Storage Device, Energy Storage System, and Charging Network“. The patent application number is CN202521533426.3, and it was officially authorized on October 10, 2025.

The patent summary reveals that the application discloses a battery device, energy storage device, energy storage system, and charging network. The battery device consists of a battery cell, a plastic component, a heat exchange component, and a casting component. The plastic component is designed to support the battery cell, while the heat exchange component is embedded within the plastic part to facilitate heat transfer for the battery cell. The casting component is positioned on the side of the plastic part that is opposite to the battery cell. This innovative design allows the side of the plastic part facing the battery cell to avoid the need for spray coating with insulating powders and electrophoretic anti-corrosion materials, ultimately reducing the manufacturing costs of the battery device.

In 2025, Ningde Times has received a total of 3,320 new patent authorizations, marking a 12.12% increase compared to the same period last year. According to the company’s mid-year financial report for 2025, it invested 10.095 billion yuan in research and development during the first half of the year, which represents an increase of 17.48% year-on-year.

Data analysis from Tianyancha shows that Ningde Times New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. has invested in 140 companies and participated in 537 bidding projects. In terms of intellectual property, the company holds 1,282 trademark records, 20,413 patent records, and 400 copyright records. Additionally, the firm possesses 1,001 administrative licenses.
