Ningde Times has made a significant announcement! On January 22, 2026, Ningde Times unveiled the Tianxing II series, a comprehensive customized solution aimed at the future of light commercial vehicles. This series includes the industry’s first intelligent management application for power batteries, known as the “Battery Butler” Tianxing version.
The light commercial series is a core component of this launch, specifically designed for various operational scenarios such as logistics delivery, urban commuting, and engineering work. This initiative marks a transition for domestic power battery enterprises into a phase of detailed operational strategies within the commercial vehicle sector.
The standout feature of the Tianxing II series is its “all-scenario customization” approach, which addresses the diverse technical needs of light commercial vehicles across different applications. This solution offers a variety of technical configurations.
For example, the Tianxing II light commercial supercharging version is tailored for high-frequency urban delivery scenarios, featuring systematic upgrades in cold resistance, power output, and lifespan. At temperatures as low as -15°C, the battery can charge from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes, which is approximately 30% faster than the previous generation. In terms of performance, the overall discharge power has increased by 30%, enabling vehicles to travel at 100 km/h under fully loaded conditions even in cold weather. Additionally, it can tackle a 15° incline under similar conditions. This version boasts a significantly increased cycle life of 8,000 cycles, allowing vehicles to cover an additional 80,000 kilometers over their lifetime, translating to an extra revenue of 150,000 RMB.
The Tianxing II light commercial long-range version aims to enhance the economic viability of intercity operations. It is equipped with the world’s first light commercial super hybrid chemical system battery, combining the advantages of lithium nickel cobalt manganese oxide and lithium iron phosphate to achieve a balance of high safety, high energy density, and cost-effectiveness. With a single battery pack capacity of 253 kWh, this is the largest in the light commercial vehicle sector. When installed, it enables vehicles to achieve an impressive real-world range of 800 kilometers. Moreover, its highly integrated “Taishan PACK” architecture reduces vehicle weight by over 260 kg, further lowering operational costs.
The Tianxing II light commercial high-temperature supercharging version focuses on final logistics scenarios. This battery supports peak charging at 4C, recharging 60% in just 18 minutes, which allows for a range of 10 kilometers with only one minute of charging. Its unique “high-temperature side reaction self-suppression technology” streamlines thermal management design, reducing energy consumption by an additional 5%, saving around 500 RMB in annual charging costs. With this technology, even at 45°C, the battery maintains a cycle life of 5,000 cycles and comes with a warranty of up to 8 years or 600,000 kilometers.
Additionally, the Tianxing II light commercial low-temperature version is the first mass-produced sodium-ion battery in the light commercial sector, designed to meet the operational challenges in extremely cold regions. With a capacity of 45 kWh, it can be matched with various models, including small vans and light trucks. This battery retains over 92% of usable capacity at -20°C and is capable of immediate charging even when frozen at -30°C. Even at extreme low power conditions down to 10% state of charge (SOC), it can still manage a 10° incline when fully loaded.
During the launch event, Ningde Times also introduced the first intelligent management app for power batteries in the light commercial sector, called the “Battery Butler” Tianxing version. This app allows users to monitor the entire lifecycle of battery usage, analyze real-time data, visualize profit metrics, and maximize returns while managing the battery lifecycle effectively. It can also analyze operational data in real-time to identify potential risks and provide early warnings. The app offers three charging modes—standard, health, and emergency—that can be switched according to the application scenario.
Moreover, Ningde Times presented a battery swap solution— the Tianxing II light commercial battery swap version. This includes three standard battery packs: 20#-42kWh, 25#-56kWh, and 35#-81kWh, compatible with all light commercial vehicle models. Currently, over 20 light commercial vehicle models have adopted this battery swap system, offering more purchasing options for logistics drivers.
Industry analysis indicates that the launch of the Tianxing II series reflects a broader trend in the power battery industry, shifting from “standardized supply” to “scenario-based services.” As the electrification of commercial vehicles progresses, homogeneous products no longer meet the diverse demands for cost, efficiency, and safety across different operational scenarios. Customized solutions can significantly lower the total lifecycle costs by closely aligning with specific needs.
Data shows that by 2025, lithium iron phosphate batteries will account for 81.2% of the power battery market, with their cost and safety advantages being particularly prominent in the commercial vehicle sector. Leveraging its technological expertise in this field, Ningde Times has successfully implemented the Tianxing II light commercial series in collaboration with several leading commercial vehicle manufacturers.
It is noteworthy that amid increasing market competition, this new product launch represents a strategic move by Ningde Times to solidify its advantages in niche markets. Although the market share of leading companies has slightly shifted, technological advancement and deep engagement in specific scenarios remain core competitive strengths. The Tianxing II series enhances Ningde Times’s product matrix in the commercial vehicle domain, creating synergies with its passenger vehicle and energy storage businesses.
As global carbon neutrality goals advance and the penetration of electric vehicles in commercial settings increases, customized solutions are expected to become a key driver of high-quality industry growth. Companies with technological reserves and the capability to adapt to various scenarios will continue to hold competitive advantages.
From a market perspective, it is projected that by 2025, China’s power battery industry will maintain rapid growth, with total sales reaching 1,200.9 GWh, representing a year-on-year increase of 51.8%. The commercial vehicle sector, particularly pure electric trucks and specialized vehicles, will be significant growth drivers, with the proportion of pure electric truck installations rising to 27.5%, an impressive year-on-year increase of 246.0%, pushing the average battery capacity per commercial vehicle to 55.2 kWh.
Simultaneously, the market competition is characterized by a stable front-runner position and breakthroughs in the middle tier. Ningde Times maintains industry leadership with a market share of 43.42%, achieving the highest installation volumes for both lithium iron phosphate and ternary lithium batteries. However, in the face of changes in the industry, such as the rise of self-research and self-supply among vehicle manufacturers, the ability to customize for niche markets is becoming increasingly crucial.
