Ningde Times Applies for Battery Cell Patent to Enhance Electrolyte Wetting and Reduce Electrode Component Damage
On May 2, 2025, it was reported that the National Intellectual Property Administration of China has received a patent application from Ningde Times New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. for a technology titled “Battery Cell, Battery Device, Energy Storage Device, and Power Device“. The publication number for this patent is CN119890477A, and it was submitted on March 2025.
The patent abstract indicates that the application reveals a new design for a battery cell, battery device, energy storage device, and power device. The battery cell consists of an outer shell with a containment space, and an electrode assembly housed within this space. The electrode assembly is composed of stacked layers, each containing a positive electrode, negative electrode, and separators. Separators are placed between adjacent positive and negative electrodes. Additionally, capillary components are positioned alongside the arrangement of the positive and negative electrodes, located on the outer surface of the electrode assembly, opposite the shell. This design aims to enhance the wetting effect of the electrolyte on the electrode assembly while minimizing the risk of damage to the electrode components.
