- Eligible if you live in the rented home (even part-time) and meet other criteria.
- Ineligible for landlords who rent out the property but do not personally use it as a residence.
- Key requirements:
- Battery capacity ≥ 3 kWh.
- Installation period: 2022–2032 for 30% credit.
- Property type: U.S. home (includes rented residences where you reside).
If you rent and live in the home, you can claim the credit. Landlords cannot claim it for rental properties they don’t personally reside in.
