BYD Unveils Two Patents for Energy Storage Systems!

In April 2025, BYD announced two patents for energy storage systems, attracting significant attention within the industry. The first patent, titled “Energy Storage Device and Photovoltaic Energy Storage System” (Patent No. CN119813411A), describes an energy storage device that includes a battery, a sampling circuit, and at least one relay. The sampling circuit is designed to monitor at least one of the battery’s current, voltage, or temperature. The relay comprises a coil assembly, a first contact, and a second contact, where the first contact is linked to the battery and the second contact connects to the sampling circuit. Each relay is configured to disconnect the first and second contacts if the current flowing through the coil assembly drops below a preset threshold due to disconnection from the AC power supply. This mechanism ensures that the battery is isolated from the sampling circuit during transport and storage, thereby reducing energy loss in the system and enhancing the storage device’s transport and storage duration.

The second patent, titled “Energy Storage System Control Circuit and Energy Storage System” (Patent No. CN119813412A), reveals a control circuit for energy storage systems, along with a control method and the energy storage system itself. The circuit includes a branch switching component, a switching component, an auxiliary power component, and a control component. The branch switching and auxiliary power components form the first branch, while the second branch is composed of the branch switching component, the switching component, and the auxiliary power component. The control component is designed to manage the connection mode of the energy storage control circuit, switching between the first and second branches. Additionally, the control component regulates the on/off status of the auxiliary power component. This innovation allows for state switching of the switching component’s connection to the control circuit and manages the auxiliary power supply’s control process. At night, when the photovoltaic energy storage battery charge is low, it disconnects the switching component from the control circuit to optimize the overall circuit performance, thereby reducing standby losses and maximizing the use of photovoltaic energy.
