BYD has achieved remarkable sales in the new energy vehicle sector, with 2.864 million units sold in the first eight months of 2025. The company aims to reach a target of 4.6 million units by the end of the year, a goal that now seems likely to be exceeded. In August alone, BYD’s sales of new energy vehicles reached 374,000 units, contributing to a year-on-year growth of 23%.
The company’s advanced “Tiangshen Eye” driving assistance system has seen significant adoption, with over 1.4 million units equipped with this technology. In August, 90% of the vehicles sold were equipped with this system, which has generated over 87 million kilometers of assisted driving data in just one month.
BYD’s sales figures indicate that approximately 62% of its annual target has already been met. The company continues to lead in the Chinese market, where the penetration rate of new energy vehicles has surpassed 55% this year, with domestic brands accounting for 64% of market share.
International sales have also seen significant growth. In August, BYD sold 80,500 units overseas, marking a 146.4% increase compared to the previous year. Cumulatively, overseas sales from January to August reached 630,700 units, a year-on-year increase of 135.7%, with exports now making up 22% of total sales.
On the technology front, innovations such as the Lingyuan drone system and the Megawatt-level fast charging “Super e-Platform” have been successfully launched. High-end models like the Han L and Tang L continue to perform strongly in the market, enhancing BYD’s dual focus on electrification and intelligence.
