On April 19, 2026, the Beijing Yizhuang Humanoid Robot Half Marathon will take place. During a recent event, 唐剑, the CTO of the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, shared insights with a reporter from 21st Century Business Herald. Last year, their Tian Gong series robots won first place in the Humanoid Robot Marathon. This year, the company plans to enter the competition with the upgraded Tian Gong Ultra robot, aiming once again for the championship.

唐剑 mentioned that he starts each day by checking his phone for the latest industry news, including new products and technological advances. He noted that the industry is evolving rapidly, stating, “Every day brings something new.”

He projected that the total shipment volume across companies this year will approach or exceed 100,000 units. He believes that 2024 will mark the beginning of a significant era for humanoid robots. At the World Robot Conference in Yizhuang that year, around 20 humanoid robots are expected to be showcased, mostly displayed on racks. By 2025, many companies will have begun small-scale production and technical validation of humanoid robots, with rapid advancements in motion control technology. He predicts that by late 2025 to early 2026, humanoid robots will be nearly capable of performing any movement, and 2026 will be a crucial year, often referred to as the year of industrialization and large-scale deployment for the humanoid robot industry.

In an exclusive interview with 21st Century Business Herald, 唐剑 discussed his perspectives on technological developments and order volumes in the humanoid robot sector over the past year. The market has seen significant investments, and the IPO activities of prominent companies have garnered much attention. 唐剑 believes the humanoid robot market has the potential to become another trillion-dollar industry, following smartphones, personal computers, and electric vehicles, indicating a very promising future that attracts capital investment.

Regarding orders, he mentioned that the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center sold several hundred units last year, and this year, the number of orders is expected to increase significantly, potentially reaching thousands. He added that their products consist of high-spec, full-sized robots.
