Atom Robot Showcases at the 2026 Intelligent Manufacturing and Embodied Intelligence Conference
On March 23, 2026, the International Industry Development Conference on Intelligent Manufacturing and Embodied Intelligent Robots, along with the International Academic Conference on Robot Applications and Practices, concluded successfully in Wuqing, Tianjin. Atom Robot participated in the conference and delivered a keynote speech titled “Exploration and Application of Embodied Intelligent Humanoid Robot Technology.”
The conference focused on “Focusing on Practical Implementation to Build a New Chapter in the Industry,” gathering key industrial resources from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. During the “Intelligent Connection of Hundreds of Enterprises – New Chapter in Tianjin Manufacturing” ceremony, Atom Robot, as a leader in the field of embodied intelligence, officially integrated into the iRIC industrial ecosystem to jointly promote the application of robotic technology from laboratories to real-world complex conditions.
During the presentation segment, Atom Robot showcased a comprehensive matrix of its robotic products, including a full range of Delta parallel robots, SCARA robots, and heavy-duty collaborative palletizing workstations. Leveraging its strong technological foundation, Atom Robot successfully developed the world’s first humanoid robot using a parallel mechanism, equipped with a human-like controlled robotic arm, high-performance controllers, and a multimodal perception network. It innovatively employs a STEWART parallel mechanism for its waist, combined with autonomous navigation and an omnidirectional mobile chassis, achieving breakthroughs in motion performance, control precision, and environmental adaptability, paving the way for the practical application of humanoid robots.
In the speech, Atom Robot emphasized that while the industry often focuses on the “brain” and “vision” of humanoid robots, the true embodiment of intelligence lies not just in the algorithms that can “understand” but also in the capabilities of the body to “execute.” Based on this technical insight, Atom Robot has fully transferred over a decade of experience in high-speed, high-stiffness, and high-precision Delta parallel robots to the humanoid robot platform, launching the world’s first humanoid robot using a parallel mechanism—Tianbing No. 1.
Tianbing No. 1 addresses the stringent physical requirements of industrial scenarios through four key technological innovations:
- Waist Structure: Traditional humanoid robots typically use rotating or serial joints, which offer flexibility but lack stiffness. Tianbing No. 1 incorporates a STEWART six-degree-of-freedom parallel mechanism as its core waist structure—this design, already well-established in the fields of flight simulators and precision machine tools, is a first for humanoid robots. Measurements indicate that this design enhances waist stiffness by over three times, significantly improving stability during external impacts or heavy load handling, thus providing a reliable physical foundation for heavy-duty operations in industrial contexts.
- Arm Precision: Tianbing No. 1 features a high-dynamic-response controller combined with a multimodal perception network, allowing for deep integration of force and vision. In demonstrations, the robot was able to accurately grasp and place irregular flexible objects, achieving a repeat positioning accuracy of ±0.05 millimeters, approaching the level of mature industrial robots, enabling it to operate in precision assembly stations.
- Mobility: With its self-developed omnidirectional mobile chassis, Tianbing No. 1 transitions from fixed-position operations to autonomous tasks across the workshop. In complex production line environments, its dynamic obstacle avoidance and path planning response time is kept under 100 milliseconds, greatly enhancing safety and operational efficiency in human-robot collaboration.
- AI Computing Power: Tianbing No. 1 is equipped with 170 TOPS of edge AI computing power, ensuring zero-latency decision-making. The microsecond-level jitter control allows for precise operations, providing ample computational redundancy for real-time perception and autonomous decision-making.
In terms of application exploration, Atom Robot has laid out a clear roadmap for implementation. The company believes that the industrialization of humanoid robots requires aligning technological advantages with scene demands. Tianbing No. 1 is poised for application in environments with standardized conditions and specific tasks requiring high precision, including university research laboratories, chemical laboratories, and corporate training bases, data collection centers, and smart machine rooms.
These scenarios share common characteristics: relatively standardized environments, clear tasks, and high requirements for precision and stability. Atom Robot sees these as ideal entry points for “Tianbing No. 1” to leverage its technological advantages and accumulate practical data. Starting from controllable scenarios and gradually extending into complex industrial environments is a more feasible path for industrialization.
As a company with thirteen years of experience in the field of industrial automation, Atom Robot has a clear understanding of the current competitive landscape in embodied intelligence. The company believes that while the past two years have seen a focus on large models and multimodal algorithms, true competition has entered a phase where comprehensive strength is judged by “hardware structure, control algorithms, and scene data.” The parallel technology route of Tianbing No. 1 inherently carries the high rigidity and precision genes of industrial robots, making it naturally suited for industrial applications.
“We believe that the true value explosion point of humanoid robots lies not in demo models in laboratories but in real-world applications, such as next to tightening guns on automotive production lines or in high-cleanliness areas of pharmaceutical workshops,” stated Atom Robot. The company aims to leverage the geographical advantages of Tianjin and the iRIC industrial ecosystem platform to continually refine and iterate Tianbing No. 1 in real industrial scenarios, exploring the path from technical feasibility to economic viability in collaboration with upstream and downstream partners in the industry.
