The 2025 Asia Energy Conference will take place from June 16 to 18 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). This significant event will gather policymakers, industry leaders, and energy professionals from around the world to discuss critical issues and practical solutions concerning energy transition, aiming to accelerate the region’s journey towards achieving net-zero emissions.
Hosted by PETRONAS, the national oil company of Malaysia, this three-day conference is in partnership with S&P Global CERA Week as the knowledge partner. The primary goal is to explore actionable energy transition strategies that can support the realization of net-zero targets, especially in Asia, which is home to two-thirds of the global population and plays a vital role in sustainable energy futures.
Themed “Driving Asia’s Energy Transition”, the conference will emphasize collaboration among Asian nations to enhance energy security, promote renewable energy adoption, deploy zero-carbon solutions, and facilitate technology transfer. These core topics are expected to stimulate economic growth and foster socio-economic development in the region.
The organizers anticipate participation from over 180 international experts and more than 4,000 representatives from more than 50 countries. The event will feature more than 50 strategic dialogues covering seven key areas:
- Economics, Policy, and Geopolitics
- Future Energy Markets and Corporate Strategy
- Electricity Markets in Transition
- Technology, Innovation, and Circular Economy
- Capital Markets
- Climate and Sustainability
- Talent and Capabilities
This year’s conference will also introduce the Energy Park, a dedicated area for showcasing technological innovations. It will bring together technology experts, startup founders, venture capitalists, thought leaders, policymakers, and corporate innovators to demonstrate disruptive technology platforms in energy and related fields. Topics will include climate change, emission control, artificial intelligence, low-carbon fuels, circular economy, mobility, talent development, and diversity and inclusion.
Today, the organizers held a launch event for the 2025 Asia Energy Conference and a pre-conference discussion to share these details and encourage stakeholders from various sectors to register. Among the attendees were notable figures such as Datuk Arni Laily, Senior General Manager of PETRONAS; Rafidah Kamaruzaman, Media Communications Manager; Nora Fazira, Vice President of Public Relations and Communications at PETRONAS; Siti Azlina, Senior General Manager of Communications Strategy; and Peter Murray, Regional Manager at Amazon Web Services Malaysia.
