April 2025 New Energy Vehicle Sales Increase by 44.2%

Overview of Automotive Sales
In April, the production and sales of automobiles reached 2.619 million and 2.590 million units, respectively, reflecting year-on-year increases of 8.9% and 9.8%. From January to April, automobile production and sales totaled 10.175 million and 10.060 million units, marking year-on-year growth of 12.9% and 10.8%.
New Energy Vehicle Sales Growth
In April, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 1.251 million and 1.226 million units, respectively, showing year-on-year increases of 43.8% and 44.2%. New energy vehicles accounted for 47.3% of total new car sales. From January to April, production and sales of new energy vehicles stood at 4.429 million and 4.300 million units, with year-on-year growth rates of 48.3% and 46.2%, respectively, representing 42.7% of total new car sales.
Automobile Export Growth
In April, the export of complete automobiles reached 517,000 units, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 2.6%. New energy vehicle exports totaled 200,000 units, showing a significant year-on-year growth of 76%. From January to April, total automobile exports amounted to 1.937 million units, with a year-on-year increase of 6%. New energy vehicle exports during this period reached 642,000 units, representing a year-on-year increase of 52.6%.
