Higher efficiency, greater reliability, and improved thermal performance! LONGi Green Energy has launched the new generation of N-type high-efficiency modules. This new series of N-type high-efficiency modules is set to revolutionize the solar energy sector.
On May 6, 2025, LONGi Green Energy announced the release of its latest N-type solar module, which utilizes the advanced CS6.2 series technology. This technology is particularly suited for large-scale ground-mounted power stations and industrial applications. The series boasts a maximum power output of 660W and a module conversion efficiency of up to 24.4%. The commercial launch is scheduled for August 2025.
The technological advancements in this new generation of modules come with significant benefits. Here are some of the key improvements:
- Advanced Line Cutting Technology: This technology reduces silver consumption on the module surface by 30%, enhancing the overall cost-effectiveness.
- High-Efficiency Junction Box Technology: This improvement increases the open-circuit voltage (Voc) by 10mV, thereby optimizing energy output.
- Multi-Silicon Wafer Technology: This technology minimizes energy loss during operation and boosts efficiency by nearly 90%.
- Next-Generation Silver Paste Technology: This technology reduces contact loss by approximately 20%, enhancing the performance of solar cells.
- SMBB Ultra Technology: This design minimizes electrical resistance loss significantly while enhancing performance stability.
Compared to previous TOPCon modules, the new N-type high-efficiency modules by LONGi achieve a maximum performance increase of up to 90%. They also have a temperature coefficient of -0.28%/°C, and the balance of system (BOS) costs can be reduced by up to 2%, leading to the lowest levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) improvement of 5%.
Thomas Koerner, the head of the solar module division at LONGi Green Energy, stated, “The N-type high-efficiency module marks a new milestone in solar technology, providing exceptional performance and efficiency for large-scale ground-mounted power stations and industrial applications.”
