China’s National Development and Reform Commission has accelerated the implementation of major construction projects. On October 2, 2025, it was reported that significant advancements are being made in various large-scale projects across the country, with a particular focus on improving infrastructure.
In Guangxi, a notable project is the establishment of a 16-unit offshore wind farm in the South China Sea. This project, known as the “Three Gorges Wind Power Base,” is designed to generate approximately 4,465 megawatt-hours of clean energy annually. This output is expected to meet the annual electricity needs of around 2.4 million households.
Additionally, in Shanxi Province, the “Combined Heat and Power Plant” is set to commence operations after successfully completing its final testing phase. This facility will significantly enhance power generation capabilities, producing 27,000 tons of steam daily and supplying solar energy to bolster its output.
Moreover, this power plant will work in conjunction with existing renewable energy sources like wind power and other energy systems to ensure a stable electricity supply around the clock. Each year, this facility is projected to contribute 1.8 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity to the grid.
In Shanxi, the construction of eight railway lines is progressing rapidly. This project involves 2.6 million tons of construction materials, ensuring improved transport connectivity for the region.
In the new Tian Mountain area, construction is underway for a major road project, enhancing access to the region. Concurrently, high-speed rail projects are also being developed to improve connections and boost local economies.
These initiatives are part of the national strategy to promote large-scale construction projects and sustainable energy sources, contributing to the country’s overall economic development.
This momentum in project execution is indicative of the government’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure and supporting energy needs efficiently and effectively.
