2026 Xiamen Industrial Expo and the 30th Cross-Strait Mechanical and Electronic Products Trade Fair Opens

Xiamen has once again become the focal point of the industrial manufacturing sector with the opening of the 2026 Xiamen Industrial Expo and the 30th Cross-Strait Mechanical and Electronic Products Trade Fair (referred to as the “Xiamen Industrial Expo”) on the morning of April 9 at the Xiamen International Exhibition Center. This year’s event revolves around the theme “Cross-Strait Cooperation, Expanding Global Markets,” featuring a total exhibition area of nearly 70,000 square meters and showcasing 716 industrial manufacturing brands from both domestic and international backgrounds. In addition, nearly 20 high-level forums and matchmaking activities are being held concurrently, creating a one-stop platform for cutting-edge technology launches, industrial ecosystem integration, and global cooperation.

Over the past 30 years, the Xiamen Industrial Expo has evolved into a crucial hub connecting Southeast coastal industrial intelligence and linking the global market through the Belt and Road Initiative. This year’s expo also features the Xiamen Electronics Manufacturing and Information Technology Exhibition and the Xiamen “Good House” Technology and Smart Construction Exhibition.

The Xiamen Industrial Expo focuses on high-end equipment, showcasing realistic scenarios of “future factories.” In the metal processing exhibition area, international equipment giants such as Yamazaki Mazak, Tsugami Precision, and Shadek share the stage with leading domestic companies like Bond Laser, Yangli Group, and Han’s Laser. The industrial automation area gathers renowned automation companies including Panasonic Robotics, Schneider, and Hiwin, demonstrating advanced solutions like unmanned production lines, human-machine collaboration, and AI detection.

Notably, this year marks the introduction of a new theme section on embodied intelligence, coinciding with the inaugural Xiamen International Conference on Embodied Intelligence. This event aims to create a high-end communication platform that integrates trend analysis, policy interpretation, strategic discussions, and project matchmaking, seizing new opportunities in the integration of artificial intelligence and industrial manufacturing.

Leveraging Xiamen’s unique geographical advantage as a core area of the “Maritime Silk Road” and a cross-strait integration hub, the expo has set up a special demonstration area for cross-strait industrial integration. Concurrent professional forums will focus on cutting-edge topics such as embodied intelligence and semiconductors, providing a high-end platform for in-depth exchanges and resource matchmaking between experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs from both sides.

This year, many local companies from Xiamen are also present at the expo. The Xiamen Torch Group Asset Operation Company, along with seven enterprises including Limbach, Weiyou New Materials, Zongneng Instruments, and Huayi Xun, represents emerging industries such as aerospace, new materials, and 3D printing. “These companies are representatives from our high-quality park facilities, including the Torch Intelligent Manufacturing Phase III and Advanced Manufacturing Industrial Park. They will showcase new products, technologies, and solutions, demonstrating the innovative achievements of enterprises within the Torch Park,” stated a representative from the Torch Group Asset Operation Company. The Xiamen Industrial Expo has become a key platform for businesses to showcase their strength, expand their markets, and seek opportunities, with this group participation aimed at precisely serving companies.

The organizers stated that the 2026 Xiamen Industrial Expo is not only a concentrated display of high-tech innovations but also a barometer for the transformation and upgrade of the manufacturing industry, serving as a vital vehicle for industrial cooperation. The expo will continue to leverage Xiamen’s core geographical advantages to promote industrial upgrades along the southeast coast, facilitate cross-regional industrial collaboration, and enable efficient global resource connections, thereby empowering the high-quality development of China’s manufacturing industry.

The expo will continue until April 12.

Robots “Explore” the Expo, Mechanical Arms Showcase Skills

On the opening day, Xu Xiaolan, a staff member from Tian Gong (Xiamen) Automation Technology Co., Ltd., dressed in her carefully chosen outfit and arrived early at the Xiamen International Exhibition Center. A large area replicating a “future factory” strongly attracted her attention. For the next few days, her dual role as an exhibitor and visitor made her feel fortunate. The 2026 Xiamen Industrial Expo showcases the latest robots and mechanical arms, becoming a grand stage for innovations in the field.

Dozens of mechanical arms were in action, with a magnetic levitation circulating line specifically designed for assembling industrial lithium battery packs, drawing considerable attention throughout the day. Xu Xiaolan, who served as the product promoter for this new intelligent device, proudly introduced the technology to guests. Multiple “grippers” levitating above the production line swiftly moved, precisely stopping at designated “workstations” to pick up millimeter-sized lithium battery components, completing installations in rapid succession.

Meanwhile, a mechanical arm used for automatic welding was completing welding tasks on automotive engine parts. Xu Xiaolan often took opportunities to “dive” into other booths to observe robots from different companies, captivated by the almost sci-fi scene where dozens of mechanical arms operated simultaneously. Li Fei, a technician from Xiamen Songxing Intelligent Robot Co., Ltd., expressed optimism about the rapid integration of these innovative devices into everyday factory operations. He noted that one of their “intelligent craftsmen” achieved zero-error welding and has begun applications in the precise welding of sports equipment, automobiles, and even ships. He predicts that with the promotion of new technologies, traditional tools like manual welding guns and protective gear may soon become obsolete.

A Barometer for Manufacturing Transformation and Upgrading

In addition to the variety of mechanical arms, numerous embodied robots and robotic dogs frequently emerged from various corners of the venue, blending into the bustling crowd. It was noteworthy that compared to one or two years ago, these robots did not seem as “impressive” to the general public. “This phenomenon is understandable, as embodied intelligence is increasingly becoming part of our daily lives,” commented several exhibitors from Taiwan who were chatting together. They believe that the advancements in embodied intelligence technology on the mainland have progressively transformed once-imagined future scenarios into tangible realities. Acknowledging this trend, the organizers of this year’s Xiamen Industrial Expo have notably introduced a section dedicated to embodied intelligence, aiming to capitalize on the integration of artificial intelligence with industrial manufacturing and promote technological infiltration across the entire industrial chain, revealing new business opportunities to many attendees.

The organizers candidly acknowledge that this expo serves not only as a concentrated showcase of cutting-edge technology but also as a key indicator of the manufacturing industry’s transformation and upgrade. As for the future direction of manufacturing in Xiamen and across the nation, a robot that continuously greeted passersby displayed the answer on its screen: “Industrial Intelligent Manufacturing”.
