2025 Yangtze River Delta Hydrogen and Energy Storage Industry Conference Held in Shangyu

2025

On the morning of April 19, 2025, the Yangtze River Delta (Shaoxing) Hydrogen Energy + Energy Storage Industry Technology Exchange and Development Conference was held in Shangyu. Experts and entrepreneurs from the fields of hydrogen energy and energy storage gathered to discuss industry application scenarios, accelerate precise connections and collaborative development across the industrial chain, and contribute to the construction of the “Youth City.”

Distinguished attendees included Ding Wenjiang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhang Jiujun, a foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Fang Xiangchen, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Chinese Chemical Society, and Jiang Lijun, Chairman of the Hydrogen Energy Professional Committee of the China Renewable Energy Society. The Deputy Secretary of the Shangyu District Committee and District Mayor Yu Dan also delivered a speech. Other local leaders including Cheng Cheng, Ruan Chenghua, Feng Shikai, and Jiang Jinxiang attended the event.

In his address, Fang Xiangchen stated that hydrogen energy and energy storage are the “dual engines” of the clean energy system, becoming key avenues for cultivating new types of productive forces. The conference focused on the intersection of the chemical industry and the new energy sector, covering topics from optimizing green electricity hydrogen production reactors to breakthroughs in liquid hydrogen storage and transportation materials, as well as research on energy storage battery electrolytes and hydrogen-co-production system integration. These discussions were deemed crucial for advancing the development of the hydrogen energy and energy storage industries.

Jiang Lijun commented that China’s hydrogen energy industry has entered a phase of diversified development, with large-scale utilization reaching new heights. The acceleration of green hydrogen’s diverse applications is progressing, and overseas markets are continually expanding. Shangyu, located in the core area of the Yangtze River Delta integration, boasts a developed transportation network and a comprehensive industrial system, providing natural advantages for collaborative innovation in the hydrogen energy sector. He expressed hope that the region would seize the opportunities presented by the “dual carbon” strategy to focus on the forefront of industrial development, enhance the layout of hydrogen energy infrastructure, and promote technological breakthroughs and industrial implementation of core components.

Yu Dan mentioned that in recent years, Shangyu has anchored its main strategy for the construction of the “Youth City,” focusing on establishing a “4+4” modern industrial system centered on new types of productive forces, while promoting regional industrial brands like “Material Intelligence Health and New Star Therapy.” Notably, in the field of hydrogen energy and energy storage, related technologies, products, and market shares are ranked among the top in the country. Shangyu aims to use this event as an opportunity to deepen the cultivation of the hydrogen energy and energy storage industry, accelerate the introduction of supportive policies, establish industrial funds, attract innovative factors, and implement new quality projects to drive the integration of the “five chains,” ultimately creating a nationally influential base for hydrogen energy and energy storage equipment manufacturing, technological innovation, and application demonstration.

During the conference, academicians, experts, and entrepreneurs in the hydrogen energy and energy storage fields delivered keynote presentations on topics such as “Hydrogen Light Magnesium: Innovative Cultivation” and “Key Scientific and Technological Challenges and Countermeasures for Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell Durability.” These presentations provided attendees with insights into the latest developments and future prospects of the new energy industry.

The Hangzhou Bay Shangyu Economic and Technological Development Zone signed project agreements with Wolong Yingnaide (Zhejiang) Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Lanneng Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and Shenzhen Ruilin Technology Co., Ltd.. Projects related to Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM) water electrolysis hydrogen production technology and sodium-ion battery electrolytes were also signed, leading to the establishment of the Hangzhou Bay Hydrogen Energy and Energy Storage Industry Technology Alliance. The conference also featured a specialized sharing session on the development ideas for the hydrogen energy and energy storage industries in Shangyu District.
