The 2025 Shanghai International Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicle Exhibition will commence in June, focusing on the theme “Embracing Energy Transformation, Intelligent Future.” This event is scheduled to take place from June 20 to June 22 at the Shanghai International Convention and Exhibition Center.
The exhibition aims to showcase a wide array of intelligent connected new energy vehicles, including passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and specialized transport options. It will also cover advancements in new energy vehicle technologies and applications, battery manufacturing, and the infrastructure supporting electric vehicles.
This event is organized by several prominent organizations, including the China Automotive Industry Association, China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, and China Association of Automotive Engineers. In recent years, China has emerged as one of the largest markets for new energy vehicles, with significant growth in production and sales. According to data, from January to February this year, China’s total vehicle production reached approximately 4.553 million units, a year-on-year increase of 16.2%. Meanwhile, sales reached about 4.552 million units, reflecting a 13.1% increase.
The production and sales of new energy vehicles have also seen remarkable growth, with an increase of over 50% in both production and export volumes. Specifically, in January and February, new energy vehicle production was around 1.903 million units, and sales were about 1.835 million units, both representing a year-on-year increase of 52%.
By 2027, Shanghai is expected to see a total of 800,000 new energy vehicles on the road, with annual new energy vehicle sales projected to reach 300,000 units, indicating a growth rate exceeding 50%.
In terms of exports, the new energy vehicle sector is experiencing significant momentum, with exports reaching 2.82 million units, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 54.5%.
The Shanghai International Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicle Exhibition will also feature discussions on policies and strategies to promote new energy vehicles, focusing on sustainable development and technological innovation in the automotive sector.
The exhibition is a crucial platform for stakeholders, including manufacturers, researchers, and policymakers, to collaborate and share insights on the future of the automotive industry in China.
