The 2025 Sustainable Global Leaders Conference is set to take place in Huangpu District, Shanghai, from October 16 to 18. According to information shared during a press conference on October 13, the conference will focus on the theme “Collaborating to Face Challenges: Global Action, Innovation, and Sustainable Growth.” This event aims to gather global expertise to explore new pathways for sustainable development and inject robust “Chinese momentum” into global sustainable governance.
This year’s conference marks an upgrade from the previous four sessions of the ESG Global Leaders Conference. The organizing committee anticipates inviting around 500 prominent guests from both domestic and international spheres, including approximately 100 overseas guests. Among the expected attendees are Nobel Prize laureates, Turing Award winners, and leaders from Fortune 500 companies, alongside top scholars and industry representatives.
Over the course of three days, the conference will delve into nearly 50 topics, covering various sectors such as energy and the “dual carbon” goals, green finance, sustainable consumption, technology, and public welfare. During the forum, the 2025 Shanghai ESG Development Report, authored by the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, will be formally released. This report will focus on urban sustainable development and governance innovation, aiming to provide valuable path analyses and policy recommendations for sustainable development across the nation.
In addition to the main conference, two significant accompanying events will also be held: the Green Industry and Sustainable Consumption Expo and the Sustainable Outstanding Case Results Exhibition.
