The 2025 China Petroleum and Petrochemical Enterprises Information Technology Exchange Conference and the Oil and Gas Industry New Quality Productivity Development Summit Forum were held in Beijing from May 15 to 16, 2025, at the Petroleum Science and Technology Exchange Center.

The conference focused on the theme of “Digital Intelligence Empowering the Development of New Quality Productivity in Petroleum and Petrochemicals”. It aimed to implement national strategies for the vigorous development of the digital economy and artificial intelligence, and to accelerate the cultivation of new quality productivity. Discussions centered on how digital intelligence technology drives innovation in the petroleum and petrochemical sectors and facilitates a green, low-carbon transition. Topics included trends and application scenarios of digital intelligence technology, recent achievements in digital transformation, and the practical application of large AI models along with the development of key core technologies that are self-controlled.

Notable attendees included Jiao Fangzheng, Chairman of the China Petroleum Society; Zhou Song, General Accountant of China National Petroleum Corporation; Yu Jin, Deputy General Manager of China National Offshore Oil Corporation; and Liu Jinyu, Deputy General Manager of the National Petroleum and Natural Gas Pipeline Group, who all delivered speeches. They outlined the directions and goals for supporting and leading high-quality development in the petroleum and petrochemical industry through digital transformation and the construction of a modern energy industry system.

The conference was jointly hosted by several organizations, including the China Petroleum Society, China National Petroleum Corporation, China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation, China National Offshore Oil Corporation, National Pipeline Corporation, National Energy Administration, China National Chemical Corporation, China Aviation Oil, Yanchang Petroleum, and the Oil and Gas Survey Center of the China Geological Survey. This event is recognized as a high-level scientific conference in the field of petroleum and petrochemical information technology in China, having been successfully held for over a decade. It has been selected by the China Association for Science and Technology as an “Important Academic Conference,” attracting enthusiastic participation and widespread attention from experts, scholars, and professionals from energy companies, research institutions, and universities. The conference has played a crucial role in the implementation of the digital transformation strategy in the petroleum and petrochemical industry and in promoting deeper communication and collaboration.

The event featured ten specialized forums, including the Energy Enterprises CIO Forum, Industrial Internet Forum, Big Data Forum, AI Large Model Forum, Cybersecurity Forum, Smart Oilfield Forum, Intelligent Refining Forum, Smart Pipeline Forum, Smart Engineering Forum, and the Smart Integrated Energy Station (Smart Sales) Forum, as well as four technical and achievement sharing sessions. Over 200 industry experts gathered to widely share experiences and technological trends related to the digital transformation of the entire petroleum and petrochemical supply chain, collectively exploring the pathways for high-end, intelligent, and green development in the oil and gas industry.

An exhibition area was also set up for outstanding papers and digital intelligence achievements, with participation from more than 3,600 representatives from domestic and international energy industries, petroleum and petrochemical companies, universities, and research institutions.

Fu Chunlei, Partner and Head of the Energy and Chemical Industry at Boyan Technology Co., Ltd., attended the forum and stated that the energy and chemical sectors are among the key industries for Boyan Technology’s future investments. This year’s conference coincides with the conclusion of the “14th Five-Year Plan” and the planning of the “15th Five-Year Plan.” Its clear themes, forward-looking insights, and fruitful outcomes have significant implications for advancing the deepening of digital transformation in the energy industry. It also plays an important role in helping petroleum enterprises achieve high-level technological independence and self-reliance, as well as in fostering and developing new quality productivity.
